#5: The time has come: it's "zero days until race start"

The time has come: the crew is assembled, food until Brazil is bought and divided in daily portions, personal bags are stored, the boat is baptised, farewell drinks have been enjoyed, family and friends are ready to board the spectator boat, the clock has run down: it’s “zero days until race start”, only a couple of hours left to be precise. Today, at 14:15 BST (15:15 CET) the twelve 70 foot yachts will “slip lines” and enter the Thames.

After setting formation, I will be honoured to witness the opening of and passing through the Tower Bridge, which will mark the symbolic start of the circumnavigation and Henrik in Action. You can join me by following the live stream of the race start ceremony from 13:00 BST (14:00 CET) on www.clipperroundtheworld.com/livestream. After the official sailing start of the race to Rio de Janeiro tomorrow at 12:30 BST (13:30 CET), you will also be able to track me (Team PSP Logistics) and the competing yachts online. The links to the live stream for Monday and tracking application will be published tomorrow on www.clipperroundtheworld.com.

After months of planning and preparing for any possible circumstances, I join my fellow crew members in great excitement and anticipation of the upcoming eleven months. I can already say that I feel extremely comfortable among the crew of my team. The coming days and weeks will further prove and strengthen our supportive, friendly and fun team bond, which is probably one of the most important assets on board!
