History

This was already the 10th edition of the Clipper Race! Back in 1996 the first edition started from Plymouth on eighth 60-foot yachts. By now more than 3000 people have participated in this unique adventure and 55 ports have been visited in the race's 19-year history.

Route

The race route around the world is about 40,000 nautical miles long and covers 14 harbours in 10 countries. Along the route, I have visited several SOS Children's Villages. Find out more about the ports and dates here.

Yacht

Competition took place on 12 identical 70-foot yachts. The one with the license plate "CV22", named "PSP Logistics", in my race edition was my home for 11 months.

My Team: PSP Logistics

I was a crew member of the PSP Logistics Team. The crew members came from diverse backgrounds and have bonded throughout the different challenges we had to overcome together.

Live - Track the Race

With the "Race Viewer" it was possible to track the entire Clipper fleet around the world, as well as obtain detailed information on weather conditions and individual yacht data (speed, distance to finish etc.).

Race Scoring

After each of the 16 races, the winner is awarded 12 points, the second 11 points and so on down to 1 point for the twelfth.  Additionally, bonus points can be gained at Scoring Gates or by winning Ocean Sprints. Points can also be lost by infringing the Racing Rules, Sailing Instructions or by damaging boat equipment. The yacht "LMAX" has won the Clipper Roudn the World Yacht Race 15/16.
